Butterflies Take Flight

Butterflies Take Flight at Summit Elementary

This week, our elementary students stepped into the Summit Discovery Lab for an unforgettable science adventure! Inside, dozens of delicate Monarch chrysalises hung in anticipation, waiting to complete their incredible transformation.

Students watched in awe as they explored the butterfly life cycle—from hungry caterpillars to quiet chrysalises to the breathtaking moment when butterflies spread their wings for the very first time.

The experience reached its peak as students carefully released the newly emerged Monarchs into the wild. The sky came alive with fluttering wings, and our students were reminded of the wonder of God’s creation through this hands-on lesson.

Even Mr. Giddens joined in the fun, celebrating with our students as science and faith came together in a joyful, memorable way.

Special thanks to Mrs. Gradel, Dr. Kelly, and our elementary staff for making this experience possible!
