Serving Saturday

Serving Saturday: Help Us Build Picnic Tables for Our Outdoor Learning Area!

We’re calling SCA Intermediate parents to consider joining us for Serving Saturday! This is your chance to make a big impact with a small project. We have six new picnic tables ready to be assembled and placed in our new Intermediate outdoor learning area, and we need your help to get the job done!

Whether you’re a seasoned pro with a toolbox or a self-made handyman, this project is designed for everyone. Minimal tools and experience are required, and it’s a great opportunity for families to come together and contribute to our school community.

Event Details:

Date: Saturday, August 31, 2024
Time: 9am - 11am
Project: Building and placing six picnic tables in our outdoor learning area
Who’s Invited: Intermediate families (first six to sign up)
Tools: Open face wrench, socket wrench; level, tape measure. (see photo below)

This is more than just a workday; it’s a chance to connect with other parents, spend quality time with your family, and help create a space where our students can thrive.

Ready to join us? Sign up using the form below and let’s make this Serving Saturday a day to remember!

Yes, you'll need to be able to lift and transport pieces from our elementary building storage area to the concrete pad behind the intermediate gymnasium. No pieces weigh more than 50lbs.

Anchoring these tables to the concrete pad will require individuals with advanced construction knowledge and power tools.  We don't expect our volunteers to do this. However, if you have the expertise and skill set and would be willing to tackle the project, we would welcome the help. Contact Jason Berry directly if you would like to discuss this -- jberry@summit.school.
