STEM EXPO

On Thursday, September 19, Summit 6th graders went on a field trip to the Back to School Stem Expo held at the Tulsa Fairgrounds. We had the opportunity to inspect the inside of an ambulance and QT air-conditioned delivery truck. I personally enjoyed holding a worm while learning about the benefits of composting. Another fun experiment we got to observe involved heating water inside a soda can and then inverting the can into a bath of cold water; the can was immediately crushed!

Fox23 had a mock weather studio, allowing students to practice their meteorology skills. The meteorologist’s job is much harder than I expected! After visiting the Expo, I was surprised to learn how STEM is present in almost every occupation!
